Worked with this crew over the course of a few weeks. Very honest and hardworking guys, who were more than willing to make special arrangements for specialty items.
They were horrible...I had a very expensive one of a kind coffee table...brass...with limestone tiles...I told them be very careful with this table...ten minutes later they come back with a shattered tile...they turned table upside down..didn't tape it and were banging everything...they actually slipped the grand piano...and hit doorway landing on way out...I swear a couple of the guys were on speed..or some kind of drug...the one guys pupils were all dilated..and he was acting really animated and weird...it took 3 months to get insurance to pay to fix the tike which cost 1300.00 but the table is broken and not worth anything neat what it would have had this not happen...went to use my formal dining room cabinet and saw big gash in the door...do not hire this company...they seriously damaged my nicest pieces
Hammer's representative came out and gave me a reasonable estimate and I arranged to have my furniture moved from a 3 bedroom house. He saw a beautiful piece of stained glass art and asked if I wanted they to pack it with special attention, for an additional price, and I said yes. On the day of the move I didn't mind that they were 1/2-hr late and the workmen were cordial and friendly. A different crew moved me in 2 days later...that's when I saw the damage. Not sure if it happened coming or going, but no less than 5 pieces of furniture have been severely damaged: scratches, gouges, nicks, evidence of sliding things across wooden tables. And my stained glass art had 19 cracked pieces of glass. I overheard the lead man say to the workman who wrapped it, "You didn't do it right, but it's okay." It wasn't. Since I thought I was dealing with professionals, I didn't take the expanded insurance, which had a high deductible anyway, so I've been compensated $129. It cost me $200 to have the art fixed alone. NEVER AGAIN!!!! WILL IS TRUST THIS COMPANY.
WOW I have used Hammers over the last several years...i have moved seventeen times .Lynn is a wealth of information ,professional kind .the estimator was honest and detail oriented ... the guys are always pleasant and work so hard and quick ,they are not out to overextend or delay your move... if any damage has occurred, it was always dealt with quickly and efficiently. half the time if anything was broken it was due to my poor packing ....or not being ready on the day of the move and i would throw things in boxes haphazardly.....and yes you should at least offer them water,and food .. moving is stressful and it's extremely hard work...that's why you pay them...
There honest to good movers and the service is great they think before actions to make sure everything comes out perfect in the end very satisfying moving company.
